Artist Statement Welcome to my gallery on Imagekind.com.
Everyone is entitled to view art the way they desire to. I believe that God is the original creator of all things, therefore, what I make by my hand, that which is considered an original, is merely a "copy of the truth". Hebrews 9:23. [cotT] this is how I identify my "original" art work. God also blesses us with our talents, so it is to Him I give thanks.
I was born on July 26, 1961, in the capital city of Salisbury, Rhodesia, now called Harare, Zimbabwe. Growing up in Africa I learned to love and respect the beauty of nature and animals. At age six I went to live in Greece with my grandmother for almost a year, and ever since then I consider it my second home. In 1983 I moved to the United States, and over the course of years have lived in California, Virginia and presently in Raleigh, North Carolina. Where ever I am on this life's journey, I know that this is where God wants me to be.
Part of who I am, and where I’ve been is the source of my inspiration. I’ve always loved to draw since I can remember. At school art was my favorite subject. Throughout high school and college I studied various media and techniques including watercolor and batik making. As a result I’ve combined these two techniques; what I call "batik on paper".
Information about the art of batik making is available on "My Gallery" page. >>
I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for visiting.
In addition, my batik art images are available on a selection of quality merchandise such as T-shirts, greeting cards, calendars, journals, mugs, pillows and more!
